UBT signs Joint PhD agreement with La Trobe University
The connections between UBT and La Trobe University have been boosted during a visit of a delegation from Bayreuth to La Trobe in February 2020. Following a day of productive discussions on joint research in the fields of Sport, Health and Economics, the two universities finalised their joint PhD agreement. This agreement will allow students of both Universities to be supervised by experts from both institutions, gain valuable international experience and be awarded a joint testamur of their PhD. We are very much looking forward to accompanying the first cohort of Phd scholars on their journey.
Together with Geoff Dickson, Associate Professor, Sport Management, Management Sport & Tourism, two workshops were held with academics from UBT to explore areas for future collaboration.
Furthering collaborations in Sport, Health and Economics
During the first workshop, a group of researchers from the fields of Sport Management, Health Economics and Sport Psychology continued conversations from both Universities discussed future joint research projects and possibilities for joint PhD supervisions. La Trobe University was represented by Associate Prof. Geoff Dickson, Prof. Matthew Nicholson, Prof. Emmanuel Kuntsche and Dr Martin Schlegel, UBT was represented by Prof. Eckhard Nagel and Dennis Henzler, as well as the international office represented by Dr Arnim Heinemann and Dr Irina Herrschner.
